You are so right about social proof. How often do we visit blogs and say, "am I the only one who likes this?" Makes me wonder if I'm the only one who likes good sites. :) My self assessed social proof rating is probably 2.5 so I have a lot of work to do. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction!

Hi Budget Babe

Thanks for the comment. It's great that you've set yourself such a challenge! By the way, one of the things we'll be talking about in this blog is the law of influence called consistency and commitment. Without going into detail here, it's been shown that people who commit to things publicly (like you're doing with your blog) are much more likely to succeed!

I wish you every success with your goals. And don't forget to come back here often ;)

Marvellous blog entry Paul! Being a brand new blog, I can definitely take your suggestions on board. Right now I feel torn between writing posts and promotion and as I also work full-time, finding enough hours in the day is quite difficult. Still, I am really enjoying this challenge I have set for myself and reading your blog is obviously going to make that challenge all the more pleasurable! Cheers from Sydney! Budget Babe xoxo

Hi Amy, thanks for the comment. What you say is absolutely correct. In reference to online reputations, in some ways, Web 2.0 makes us more responsible marketers, because bad customer experiences can echo across the blogosphere!

But then again, so can good ones, which is why it's always far better to deliver great customer experiences.

Thanks again for your input, Amy.

Thanks for your suggestions, Paul. Your post is a good reminder that it's not enough just to post or share ideas, but that we must also manage our online reputations with a concerted effort if we expect to see significant results.
